Ms. Lewis is a Principal at Gradient, a consulting firm specializing environmental and product safety risk assessment. With over 20 years of experience in toxicology and human health risk assessment, Ari has used her expertise to lead a variety of projects, including product safety evaluations, regulatory comments, and technical support for the consumer product, utility, and mining industry. She also has particular expertise in risk assessment of metals and coal combustion products (CCPs). In this capacity, Ms. Lewis has led both published and presented extensively on the health risks of metals and CCPs and has provided direct input to US EPA on CCP regulatory issues. This included congressional testimony on CCP health risks to inform the CCR Rule. Her CCP-related work spans a variety of issues from evaluating the beneficial use of coal ash in geotechnical applications and construction materials to site-specific CCP risk evaluation and risk communication.
